Went to the Woodcutter at Hartlepool last night to see Black Rose. Was a bit of a shock to find a £3 cover charge on the door. Can't remember the last time I paid £3 cover charge, that'll have been at the Rock Bar when it was open. Big Al's back with them on bass and this was his first gig but it looked like he'd never been away. He's always entertaining to watch in my opinion. The venue was canny though once we got over the shock of the cover charge. Fairly big room with slightly raised stage area. Almost everywhere you sat you could see the band. Was about 50 people in, a few people refused to pay the cover charge and turned away. Personally I think it was a bit much, a small cover charge of £1 I would agree with but for £3 I expected Phil Lynott making a guest appearance! LOL ;D ;D ;D ;D Took a few photo's which I'll post shortly. The band were great. Thin Lizzy isn't one of my favourite bands in the world but I don't mind going to see Black rose occasionally and they didn't disappoint. All in all a canny night was had by all!

Good photos, good venue but we were shocked the first time we played there at the cover charge. I felt sorry for the people that travelled to see us regularly for nowt having to pay to travel and the CC.

Wouldn't care but it's a canny size room. Would probably be mint if it was full.
